| Last year, Cheryl and Darryl Harwig started a screen printing business on their ranch east of
town called Prairie Creations. The Harwigs offer personalized service, and no order is too small, printing t-shirts, caps, tote bags, athletic
apparel, signs, sports shirts and other styles of shirts and sweat pants. They will take orders by phone, fax,or come to your place of business by
appointment.
Cheryl worked for a commercial printing company for eighteen years prior to moving to the Walsenburg area. There weren't any
opportunities to stay in the commercial printing industry here, but she understood there was a need for a screen printing business. This year the
Harwigs expanded their business to include the sale of Old West Clothing by Wahmaker and Old West Range Wear. Some items available are vintage ladies'
dresses, riding skirts, vests, blouses and undergarments. For the men, browse through frock coats, vests, shirts and pants. “We don't have a store
front operation, so we sell only by catalog giving us the opportunity to keep our costs less than retail stores and saving our customers 25 to 35%.”
