| Huerfano County is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and own your own business," agree Rick and Shelley Walter who own and operate Precision Builders Company just outside of
Walsenburg. The Walters came to the area ten years ago while helping Shelley’s mother move back to a ranch her parents homesteaded 80 years
ago. The couple quickly realized what a wonderful place it would be for their
family.

With 20 years experience in all phases of construction, Rick started working as a superintendent for a local construction company; but after getting settled in, the Walters decided to start their own
firm. Now their building projects, everything from small home repairs to large custom homes and various
commercial structures, are visible throughout Huerfano, Pueblo, and Las Animas
Counties.
Meanwhile, Rick has continued his formal education in the construction industry by earning an International Council of Building Officials (ICBO) classification as an "A" licensed general contractor, a Colorado State certified modular home inspector, as well as course work on the Uniform Building Code (UBC) building practices.
In addition, the couple also owns Walter Inspection Services, a home inspection company; and for the last two years, Rick has served as the building inspector for the town of La Veta.
Although life and business can sometimes be challenging in rural areas, the people of the community, the friendships they've formed, and the opportunity to live in southern Colorado have all contributed to a successful business and fulfilling personal lives, according to Rick and
Shelley. Precision Builders Company would like to thank all of the customers they've had an opportunity to work for over the last ten years along with a long list of hard working
