To The Rescue ... - Southern Colorado Horse Rescue and Adoption, Inc.

The Southern Colorado Horse Rescue and Adoption, Inc. (SCHRA), a 501 (3)(C), is a publicly supported organization which rescues neglected and abused horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and accepts some donated equines from owners who no longer want them or can care for them. They provide any necessary veterinary, farrier and rehabilitative care, and then place these animals in caring homes. They maintain a connection with each animal after adoption through the use of a comprehensive follow-up program designed to ensure that each horse continues to receive proper care. SCHRA promises a life- long commitment to every equine taken under its protection.

In addition, The Southern Colorado Horse Rescue and Adoption works with officials in legislative and enforcement areas to ensure prompt recognition and response in cases of neglect and abuse. The organization also reaches out to the community through education by participating in and conducting classes and clinics in proper horse care and management. They consider their efforts to be a sacred obligation and recognize benevolent people joining together to bring a new consciousness to the issue of animal abuse. Through their hard work, time, and generous support they bring light into darkness for the benefit of our equine companions.

Likewise, the organization greatly appreciates any tax-exempt donation, whether it be cash, horse feed, hay, equipment or time. SCHRA would like to express their deepest gratitude to all who have donated items in the past, or purchased T-shirts and hats.
