| Phyliss Taylor, the
owner and operator of the House of Curls, moved to Walsenburg eight years ago
from Fowler, where she grew up and raised her three boys. She loves the area,
close to the mountains with beautiful views, cooler summers and says, “The
people are wonderful.” Phyliss opened the business eight years ago as a
full-service salon, offering tanning for those who like that golden tan look
year around, waxing eyebrows, pedicures, manicures, and paraffin baths for
hands, which are great for people with arthritis.
You will find high-quality hair products including Nioxin, Matrix, and Redkin,
along with O.P.I. and Creative nail items. She's also added a gift shop with
Leanin’ Tree greeting cards, everyday cards, boxed Christmas cards and
stationery with a product line including Russ Berrie gifts, candles, stuffed
animals, wedding items, picture frames and more. Her jewelry line includes
silver jewelry, turquoise, opals, amber, necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings
and watches. Wreaths and silk flower arrangements, along with gifts for babies
to adults, weddings, birthdays or gifts just to tell someone you care are also
in stock. Phyliss is also an independent Avon representative. With the holidays
