onny Selman, currently a supervisor for
Evergreen Resources, his wife Shaunie, and their two sons, Mitchell 18 and Kody
14 moved to Trinidad from Seminole, |
| Texas where Donny was a production foreman for
Citation Oil & Gas, and Shaunie worked for Joe McGill and K& S Steak
Place. Their partners, Chris Eissler, originally from New York, his wife Amy,
and their two sons, Kieran 5, & Quinton 3, are not new to the restaurant
business. They were partners in the Elm Street Station, and recently sold the
Grapevine Restaurant in Raton, as well as the Villa Napoli in Trinidad. Later,
they renamed the Elm Street Station to Mulligans Pub-n-Grub, to claim a sports
bar theme. The restaurant opened in mid-December under the Elm Street Station
name before it officially became Mulligans in March.
"Together we created a nice mix of New York class and
Texas charm," says partner, Shaunie Selman. "We offer a wide variety
of food including burgers, made from 100% Black Angus beef to cuts of prime rib,
steak, lobster, shrimp, ribs, chicken, salads, sandwiches, a large selection of
appetizers, soups, and a tasty selection of desserts. We have a full bar, with
over 20 varieties of beer." |

HUNTERS PARADISE |
 |
ock, Stock & Barrel is one of the newest
businesses in Walsenburg. Opening just last October, it features a full-service
gunsmithing shop. |
| Owned and operated by David Doane, a recent
graduate of TSJC Gunsmithing School, and Mary Wright, it also has a small retail
area that caters to the gun enthusiast. David is also equipped to make custom
barrels as well as bluing, repairs, restorations and custom guns. After retiring
from 21 years in the Army, having been in Special Forces, the 82nd Airborne and
also the Rangers, David wanted to move back to the West. Albuquerque was the
place he most called home since his dad, who was also in the Army, was stationed
there in the 70's. Fate seemed to play a role in the couple ending up in
Walsenburg.

They found property for sale, fell in love with the area and
decided it was the place for them. David discovered the gunsmithing school and
enrolled January of '97. "We love the area and how friendly the people are.
Being a good hunting area, we hoped to bring a service to the community that
would be welcomed," says Mary. "We're small now but hope to grow to
provide our customers with the products and services they require."
Lock, Stock & Barrel is located at the southernmost exit
of I-25 in Walsenburg. |
