Dogs is a unique boarding business owned by Priscilla Casanova and Al Jones in
La Veta. The facility is located behind their home in a refurbished climate-
controlled barn created to provide the kind of place someone could leave their
pets and not worry. Guests enjoy comfort and safety while receiving lots of
love, kindness, and attention.

Large dens are available for dogs and include ceiling fans,
windows, custom built poster beds, blankets, radios and colored televisions.
Both dogs and cats are treated to a daily matinee such as Homeward Bound and
other movies featuring animal sounds. The TV and radio are entertaining for the
animals and help them to relax. Several times a day dogs are escorted into a
huge fenced-in play yard, with owner's permission, and play together in
supervised groups. Many of the dogs are repeat customers so they get to know
each other — it's like one big extended canine family! They are fed
high-quality dry pet food, but boarders may bring their own. No request is out
of the question and many guests come with special feeding instructions or
medical needs.

Two-story kitty condos were recently installed to
accommodate several cats. The units are designed with doors to allow movement
from one condo to another. They hang from the ceiling because cats feel more
secure in high places. All condos have sunny windows furnished with doll
furniture and pictures. The cat condos are located in a separate room from the
dogs to ensure privacy. Grooming is available for dogs only between
Monday-Saturday from 10am-5pm. Other services include teeth brushing, ear
cleaning, nail trim, de-skunking, flea baths, and a therapeutic whirlpool.
Boarding is available seven days a week by appointment and check-out is 9am.
