A NEW "OLD FASHIONED" HAMBERGER SHOP

OH WELL !

ast May Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers in the Trinidad Fuel Stop Complex at I-25/exit 11 became the newest addition to the Trinidad restaurant scene. The local franchisee, The Griebach Corporation, is a family owned operation including
Edward L. Griego, President & CEO, Chris Bachicha, VP & Operations Manager, Kathleen Bachicha, Secretary & Operations Manager , and Karen Griego, Treasurer & CFO. The principals are lifelong residents of Trinidad. Ed and Karen Griego currently own an insurance agency but, over the years felt a strong need to diversify their business interests. After careful thought and thorough planning the idea of a fast food franchise restaurant was seriously considered because it was realistic, and was beneficial for the family as well as the community.

With a successful insurance business already operating, the Griego's discussed their restaurant venture with daughter, Kathleen, and son-in-law, Chris, who were open to the idea of managing the operation, and expressed an interest in returning to Trinidad. During 1996, a franchise was granted by Wendy's International and an association was formed with the Duran family of Duran Oil Company for the intent of redeveloping the Trinidad Fuel Stop to include a Wendy's restaurant. Over the past four years, development of the facility involved design & engineering considerations, the creation of an infrastructure, and final construction of the complex. Meanwhile, Chris and Kathleen attended an intense four month training program at Wendy's corporate facilities to acquire proper certification to manage a Wendy's under mandated guidelines. The result of their ideas, hard work, and educational training are now a reality. The 90 seat restaurant can be found inside a southwest style building which also includes a convenience store and operates in conjunction with a full service fuel facility. The ambiance of the southwest architecture, rolling hills, and piņon pines has created a unique atmosphere for local diners and travelers along I-25. An extensive menu is available to include hamburgers made famous by Dave Thomas, chicken sandwiches, pitas, salads, chili, and the popular "Frosty" frozen dessert. Open seven days-a-week the dining room hours are 10:30am to 10pm, and pick-up window from 10:30am to 12 midnight.

or many years southern Missouri was home to Steve Goins, his wife, Lisa, and their three kids, Cory 19, Lindsay 13, and Levi 9.
After reading an article about Walsenburg and the surrounding area, Steve's interest was piqued so he decided to see for himself. The Goins have relatives in the area, but didn't realize what a special place southern Colorado is until his visit. What he discovered was the natural beauty and friendly folks down here that most of us take for granted. Later, he learned that there is a strong demand for well drillers, so it didn't take long for the family to consider relocating. During the spring of 2000, the Goins moved to Walsenburg and just love the area. Steve, a fully licensed driller since 1991 is insured and bonded and specializes in water wells or complete water systems. He works with some family members, and in cooperation with Bill Grande of Grande Pump Services in Trinidad. Steve assures his clients will receive professional service with customer satisfaction being their highest priority. "With more and more people building new homes in the remote developments surrounding Trinidad and Walsenburg they soon learn there isn't access to city water, so the need for well drillers is high," says Steve. "Often times there's a waiting list for such services, but we keep a tight schedule and offer our clients dependability and quality service."

If you're planning a new home in a rural area, or need a well for other purposes, give Steve a call. He'll be happy to work with you and will give your project the attention it deserves.
