| Curtis and Ronny Pryor
came to Walsenburg from Golden, Colorado by way of Las Vegas, Nevada. When the
lease expired on their shop in Golden two years ago, they moved to Las Vegas for
the weather, to renew old friendships, and to reopen their auto repair business.
After some disappointment, they discovered just how little the big city life had
to offer. Longing to return to a small town setting with a mild climate,
Walsenburg proved to be just what they were looking for. After negotiating with
Jon Harp, their dreams came true when purchasing Harp Motor Company, and
reopening the business in the old Lenzini auto dealership, with very little work
to be done other than changing the name to PRYORity Auto Service, Inc.

Fortunately, they retained the service of Harp’s two top
technicians, Steve Day and Greg Daniels, and opened a two-bay lube and oil stop
for their third tech, Rudy Grunwald. In addition to continuing the same
excellent service Harp Motors provided, they have added a new state-of-the-art
computerized alignment machine, and have been updating equipment and
capabilities to offer complete bumper-to-bumper services and repairs. Curtis is
an ASE Certified Master Tech with experience dating back to 1967, the first 20
years being exclusively with imports, and the last 17 years with both imports
and domestics, as well as experience with restorations and conversions. He had a
shop in Petaluma, California for 9 years before selling it and moving back to
Colorado. In 1993 he found his first love and best friend, Ronny, then moved
back to Colorado where both had grown up. In 1999 they opened PRYORity Auto
Service, Inc. in Golden until losing the lease in 2002.
This is the opportunity they have been living for and dreaming
about, a beautiful small town surrounded by majestic mountain scenery, populated
by wonderful people and friendly businesses. Their desire is not only to operate
a small business but to give back to the community as well. The couple feels
it's important to coexist with others and contribute to the well being of the
town. “We want to see the community grow and flourish, and would like to use
our abilities and resources to that end,” said the Pryors, “and this is
where we want to spend the rest of our lives.”
