| Diana Roth and her
parents, Darlene and Joseph, are originally from Michigan, but after her father
retired they decided to move west — somewhere. After traveling through several
states, they came across Walsenburg, decided they liked the town and its
friendly folks, so they bought property and settled in.

During 1979, they opened a used bookstore called Paperback
Trading Post, selling and trading various books. A short time later a patron
asked if they would rent movies. Diana started with a couple hundred videos and
eventually added a wide selection of candies into the product mix. By 1985,
Greyhound Bus Lines approached the Roths to use their facility as a bus station
stop. By then it was time to expand, so they bought the old Walsenburg Creamery,
renovated the inside of the Ice House and opened their new store in 1989. As
time passed, they built 46 storage units, and are currently building more.
Recently, they remodeled the store to accommodate ten thousand movies and ten
thousand books that have been accumulated over 23 years of business.

Over time, their business diversification plan has paid off.
Whether you stop to purchase books, rent videos, get some candy, need extra
storage space, or Greyhound bus travel services, the Roths truly appreciate your
business and thank all their loyal customers for their support over the years.
They take great satisfaction in making Walsenburg a better place to live.
