Feed And More

Randy and Annette Howell moved to Las Animas County in 1988 and later bought a small ranch on Highway 160 east of Trinidad where they raise cattle, hay, and four children. As avid supporters of the agriculture and livestock industries, and the community, they realized a need for a feed store when the local feed mill closed, so they opened a feed store on their ranch. Feed & More is owned and operated by Randy, Annette, Daniel and Bob Howell. The store carries Ranch Way, Hi-Pro, and Purina brand feeds. Their product line includes cow cubes, salt, protein tubs, show feed, horse feed, swine, lamb and pet food. They also carry wild bird feed, grass and hayseed, and market their own butcher animals. Artificial insemination service is also available for cattle.
Randy believes the concept is to keep the overhead to a minimum, so they can sell at lower prices. "Feed & More" has the largest variety of feeds in the county and the best everyday prices. "We also use the products we sell in our ranch business, so we understand the use of the products. As a locally owned family business, we will do whatever possible to provide customers with the products needed for other farms and ranches, even if it means ordering a feed we don't stock, or opening after hours to accommodate." Feed & More is located eight miles east of Trinidad on Highway 160; take the second right after mile marker 353 and look for the big red barn.
