As a former professional firefighter in the Chicago area, Sam Moore and his wife Sharon moved to Walsenburg but continued
to operate their 36-year-old fire and safety equipment business. Sam's background includes service to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Program,
project manager for a national fire sprinkler company and as an emergency service worker for the Salvation Army. |
Throughout his travels in disaster-stricken areas, Sam noticed the installation of fire markers, now commonly referred to as E-911 markers. Now the
Moores are offering these E-911 emergency markers in the rural areas of Colorado. It's a blue reflective background marker with white reflective
address numbers on both sides. They are highly visible both day and especially at night, fade resistant, and measure 6" wide by customer
specified length, with 4-inch numbers. They are designed to be vertical in order to minimize wind damage, and can be mounted on almost any post. Sam
makes suggestions as to where to place these markers: next to driveway entrance to your property and road, so it can be seen at all times. In some
cases it may require more than one sign. If being placed in a residential area, they recommend you install at street and entrance to your home on your
property. The goal is to help improve vital services by assisting emergency service personnel, delivery drivers, and friends to locate you. This
product has been endorsed by fire departments, ambulance services, sheriff's departments, and Colorado State University Extension services. Pricing is
reasonable so anybody who wants one can afford it. Marker prices start at $15.95 plus tax and shipping.
