Eagle Totem Gallery in Trinidad

Art supplies, frames, mattes, fine art, jewelry, and a therapy room are all tucked away in the mini mall between Corazon Gallery and Higbee Realty on East Main Street in Trinidad. The gallery part of the business features the art of Carole Bourdo and the jewelry of Gail Grimble. Carole’s art has been acclaimed nationally for her ability to blend absolute reality with spiritual essence. There’s also a wide selection of her artwork, both originals and prints, on display in the gallery section. Gail Grimble’s (GG’s) jewelry is also on display in the gallery. She offers a large selection of unique pieces ranging from wire-wrapped pendants, bracelets, necklaces and earrings to hair ornaments, beautifully crafted, at reasonable prices. Both artists accept special commissions and offer design services for business cards, brochures, stationery, newsletters, or web sites.

In a separate room there’s a large display of ready-made frames and frame profile samples for custom frame orders. Different-textured mattes in an endless array of colors are also available in standard or custom sizes. Then there’s an area full of art supplies: brushes, paints, pastels, canvases, scratchboard, and papers… just all kinds of items for the part-time or professional artist. Carole’s taken every effort to stock art supplies to meet the needs of the growing artist community in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. If she doesn’t have it, she’ll get it.

The back workroom is where pictures are framed and where you’ll find Carole or Gail working on their creations. In addition, it’s also where classes are held for a variety of interests. It could be making jewelry or learning basic drawing skills or refining and expanding your existing painting skills.

The last space in the store is the therapy room where resident massage therapist, David Pineda, does his work. Carole Bourdo’s husband, Luton Dawes, a Reiki teacher and instructor at TSJC for the Massage Therapy Course, also does reflexology and Reiki treatments. For appointments with either David or Luton, call the store. Stop by and see what’s in store!
